Deadline Desk terms of use
Last updated: 19 October 2026
Important terms
Please read these four points before you subscribe. They affect your rights.
- Deadline Desk prepares. It never files. It shows published statutory deadlines, the rule and official wording behind each one, and a list of documents to gather. It does not complete, submit or check any return, and it is not tax, legal or accounting advice. Heferon is not a registered tax practitioner and is not a law firm. SARS states that a natural person who completes or helps complete a return for another person, or advises another person on how a tax Act applies, must register as a tax practitioner unless an exemption in section 240(2) of the Tax Administration Act 28 of 2011 applies. The submitting stays with your practice or with the company on the official portal.
- Always confirm a date on the official portal before you rely on it. Every date shows the source it comes from and the date that source was checked. Official bodies can change dates.
- The Practice seat is a monthly subscription. Paystack charges your card every month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and the seat runs to the end of the month already paid. Cancelling within 7 days of your first payment gets that payment back in full (section 7).
- Heferon's liability to you is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim (section 9). This limit does not apply to loss caused by Heferon's gross negligence, or where the law does not allow a limit.

In these terms "Heferon", "we" and "us" mean Heferon (Pty) Ltd. "You" means the person or the practice using Deadline Desk. "The seat" means a Deadline Desk Practice subscription.
2. What Deadline Desk does
Deadline Desk asks a few questions about a South African company and works out its SARS, CIPC, UIF, Compensation Fund and B-BBEE affidavit deadlines for the next 12 months, each with the rule in plain English, the official wording it comes from, a link to the official source, and a checklist of what to gather first. Where an official date for the cycle has not been published, it says so and shows no date. The list of what it does not cover is on the home page.
Deadline Desk does not:
- complete, submit or file any return, declaration or annual return;
- give tax, legal or accounting advice, or tell you which option applies to a company;
- check the facts you enter against SARS, CIPC or any other register;
- show penalty amounts; or
- receive or store the companies you enter. They stay on your device (see the privacy notice).
3. Free and Practice
Free. One company at a time: the full 12-month calendar, the sources, the checklists and the calendar file. No account and no payment.
Practice seat: the monthly amount shown on the subscribe screen before you pay, per practice, paid monthly (South African rand; no VAT is charged). The seat adds:
- as many client companies as you need, in a roster kept on your own device;
- a board of what is due this week and this month across all your clients;
- your practice's name and logo on every calendar event, checklist and printable client deadline pack; and
- one calendar file for all your clients at once.
The seat works in the browser on the device you subscribed from. To use it on another device, enter the payment reference from your first Paystack receipt on the payment-check page (deadlines.heferon.com/paid/) on that device. Anyone holding that reference can use the seat while the subscription runs, so keep it inside your practice.
4. Payment and renewal
Payment is made on Paystack's own secure payment page. Your card details go to Paystack and never reach Heferon. Paystack charges the same card on the same day each month until the subscription is cancelled, and emails a receipt for every charge.
The seat starts when Paystack confirms your first payment, normally within a few seconds. Each device checks with Heferon from time to time that the subscription is still running; that check sends no client information.
If Heferon changes the price, it emails you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before then.
5. Before you pay
Before you pay you can read these terms, use the free calendar as long as you like, and leave Paystack's page without paying. Nothing is charged until you complete payment on Paystack's page.
6. Cancelling
Cancel at any time by emailing hello@heferon.com, or by WhatsApp, with your practice name and the last characters of your payment reference. Heferon cancels the subscription on Paystack by the end of the next business day and confirms by email. Nothing further is charged after that.
What happens when you cancel. The seat runs to the end of the period you have paid for. After that the Practice features pause on your devices. Your roster and branding stay saved on your devices (Heferon never had them), you can still download a backup of them, and the free calendar keeps working. Subscribe again and they are all there.
If a charge fails. Paystack may try the card again. If no payment goes through, the seat pauses when the paid period ends and comes back once a payment is made.
7. Cooling-off and refunds
Cooling-off. You may cancel within 7 days of your first payment, without giving a reason. Heferon then cancels the subscription, so nothing further is charged, and refunds that first payment in full within 30 days of the day you cancel. This follows section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, and Heferon offers it whether or not you are a consumer under that Act.
When Heferon also refunds in full. Email hello@heferon.com with the last characters of your payment reference, and Heferon refunds the charge to the card it came from if:
- you were charged more than once for the same period;
- you were charged after you asked Heferon to cancel; or
- the seat did not work and Heferon could not fix that within 5 business days.
Apart from these, a period already started is not refunded in part. Other refunds are paid through Paystack within 30 days of Heferon agreeing the refund.
Your statutory rights. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
8. Your part
You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the facts you enter about each company;
- confirming a date on the official portal before relying on it;
- the returns your practice prepares and submits, the deadline packs and calendars your practice gives its clients, and your own professional registration and obligations;
- the client details you put in the roster. They are processed by your practice on your own device. Heferon never receives them and does not act as your operator for them under the Protection of Personal Information Act; and
- keeping a backup. The roster lives only in your browser. If you clear it or lose the device, Heferon cannot recover it.
9. Liability
Deadline Desk works out dates from published rules and from the facts you enter. It cannot know a company's circumstances, and official bodies can change dates. To the extent the law allows, Heferon's total liability to you for anything to do with Deadline Desk is limited to the fees you paid Heferon for the seat in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim.
This limit does not apply to loss caused by the gross negligence of Heferon or of anyone acting for Heferon, and it does not reduce any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited.
10. Availability and the sources
Heferon re-checks the official sources behind the dates and updates the rules when a source changes. Every date shows when its source was last checked. Heferon may change or stop Deadline Desk. If Heferon stops the seat during a period you have paid for, it refunds the unused part of that period in proportion.
11. Privacy
How Deadline Desk handles personal information is set out in the privacy notice.
12. Changes to these terms
Heferon may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change affects your subscription, Heferon emails you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
13. Complaints
